Celebrating The Life Of Loved Ones

Betty Rose Plowman Pate

On November 2, 2018, devoted wife and loving mother Betty Pate entered into her Heavenly Home.

Born February 28, 1933 in Thomasville, NC, she was the daughter of the late Ed Plowman and Ettie Mae Plowman.  She was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church and over her life enjoyed cooking, gardening, jigsaw puzzles, family beach trips, and most of all Betty loved spending time with, and doing things for her family.

Preceding her in death was her beloved husband of 67 years, Austin Pate.  Left behind to cherish her memories are children Lyndell (Cindy) Pate, Bettina Little, and Anthony (Kristi) Pate, and her most precious grandchildren Mitchell (Dana) Pate, Rebecca Pate, and Annika (Adam) Black; and sister Carrie Francis Smith (Ernest).

The family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care of Albemarle on Monday, Nov 5th from 10 AM until 11 AM and a celebration of Betty’s life will be held at 11 AM in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel, Albemarle with interment to follow at Stanly Gardens of Memory in Albemarle.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made in Betty’s name to her beloved Baptist Children’s Homes of NC, PO Box 338, Thomasville, NC 27361.

We never felt hurried or rushed in any way even though they had other funerals that day.  Everyone at Stanly Funeral Home made us feel like we were family and did everything they could for us in this most trying time in our lives.

Everyone went out of their way to make sure that every detail was good with me.  Their kindness, patience and love they show is superior.  Stephen Aldridge and his ENTIRE staff are the best.

The whole staff was wonderful but Stephen Aldridge was excellent, even sending us a note one month later.
