Blanche Lassiter Capel

Blanche Lassiter Capel, 88, of Albemarle, NC passed away Sunday, November 26, 2017 at Carolina Healthcare System- Stanly. Her service will be Wednesday, November 29th at 11 AM at Stanly Funeral & Cremation Care in Albemarle with Rev. Keith Walters officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 till 10:45 prior to the service at the funeral home. The internment will follow the service at Stanly Gardens of Memory.

Born January 9, 1929 in Montgomery County, she was the daughter of the late Alberta J. Lassiter and Elgie Morris Lassiter. Mrs. Capel was retired from E. J. Snyder and was a charter member of South Stanly Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, canning vegetables, and quilting.

She is survived by her sons, Ronald G. Capel (Cynthia) Albemarle, Darrell Capel (Pat) of Durham, NC, and David Capel of Albemarle, one daughter, Deborah Page of Albemarle and one brother Larry E. Lassiter of Troy. Other survivors include eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Billy S. Capel, brothers, Tommy, Allen, and Alvin Lassiter, and sisters, Helen Abbott, Frances McRae, Clara Lee Yashkin, Betty Smith, and Bernadine Hitchcock.

Stanly Funeral & Cremation Care is serving the Capel family.

Stanly overwhelmingly met or exceeded our family’s expectations. Family and friends both expressed how thoughtful, caring and professional they were. We’re glad you’re in Locust!


We never felt hurried or rushed in any way even though they had other funerals that day.  Everyone at Stanly Funeral Home made us feel like we were family and did everything they could for us in this most trying time in our lives.


Everyone went out of their way to make sure that every detail was good with me.  Their kindness, patience and love they show is superior.  Stephen Aldridge and his ENTIRE staff are the best.


The whole staff was wonderful but Stephen Aldridge was excellent, even sending us a note one month later.
