Jean Spivey Almond

Jean Spivey Almond, 83, of Albemarle passed away Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Bethany Woods Nursing and Rehab.  A graveside service and burial will be held on Monday, January 7, 2019 at 3PM at Centerview Baptist Church Cemetery.

Born March 19, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Robert Spivey and Ida Capel Spivey.  She was a retired customer service representative from the Albemarle K-Mart.  She was a member of Centerview Baptist Church.  She loved birds, flower gardening, and her dog.  She was also very fond of visiting her beach cottage.

She was preceded in death by her late husband Coy K. Almond.  She is survived by her son; Michael Almond of Lancaster, SC, her daughter; Gloria Almond McSwain of Albemarle, NC, grandson Jonathan Robert Almond, and great-grandchildren Miller Coy Almond and Mason John Almond; aunt Mary Leviner of Monroe, NC; and uncle Rufus Spivey of Albemarle, NC.

Memorials can be made to Hospice of Stanly & the Uwharrie 960 N 1st St. Albemarle, NC 28001 or to St. Judes Children Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

The whole staff was wonderful but Stephen Aldridge was excellent, even sending us a note one month later.
