Celebrating The Life Of Loved Ones

Johanna Mary (Post) Rossignol

In the early hours of Tuesday, April 2, 2019 our dear mother, Johanna Mary (Post) Rossignol a.k.a. Nana departed this world peacefully to enter into eternal bliss.

Born July 13, 1946 in Hartford, CT, to Frederick & Doris (Kerry) Post, both deceased, she was also predeceased by a brother Frederick “Skipper” Post Jr.  She joins her beloved husband of 51 years – Jeannot Rossignol who passed just 9 months earlier.

She leaves behind 4 children Michele Kerry of CT, Rachelle Rossignol of Mt. Gilead, Robert Rossignol of Mt. Gilead, and Jeannot Rossignol Jr. and wife Sara of CT, 12 grandchildren: Andrew LaFlamme, Nathan LaFlamme, Matthew LaFlamme, Zachary Shea and wife Ashley, Jeffrey Shea, and wife Stormy, Allen Morrill, Brian Morrill (USMC), Andra Rossignol, Faith Rossignol, Natalie Rossignol, Julia Rossignol, and Joshua Rossignol, 5 great grandchildren: Scarlett, Liam, Madalyn, Rory and Luke.  She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.

In life, she was a hair dresser before becoming disabled and she enjoyed painting and doing anything crafty.  She & her husband loved to go out to eat and she absolutely loved caramel macchiato’s, which we had gotten for her as one of her last requests a few days before her passing.  She and her husband together were a force to be reckoned with and even when they were at odds with each other, their love for each other was evident.

She will be missed dearly by all those who knew her as a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend.

She was ready to be with her beloved husband and wished not to have a memorial service.  She and her husband wanted their ashes scattered in Maine or Canada.

    Dear Mom,
It was so bitter sweet to watch you take your last breath, I knew you wanted to be with dad and that you missed him terribly so. I know you also missed your brother, my uncle Skipper whom I had never got the chance to meet, since his life was cut short at such a young age. I know you were in pain for a long time, and I’m happy to know you are no longer in pain, but I know I will miss you every single day.
Love you with all my heart, Rach

I love you Mom. I’m with you still & always in spirit. Be at peace & pain free at last.. Dance with my Father & give Grandma a hug for me. I remember our last conversation & I know you were ready to be free from your mortal flesh. You are among the stars again, where you belong. I will look up & smile knowing this and until we are together again in the cosmos….

You were my favorite human, even though I didn’t say that nearly enough. Thank you for giving me my life…

Dear Cousins, I am sorry for your loss. I will miss talking with Aunt Johanna-she easily made me laugh and was my connection to each of you. She suffered more than one should have to endure-she shared that but never complained. Your parents are together again- Rest in eternal peace together Aunt Johanna and Uncle Jeannot.

Stanly overwhelmingly met or exceeded our family’s expectations. Family and friends both expressed how thoughtful, caring and professional they were. We’re glad you’re in Locust!

We never felt hurried or rushed in any way even though they had other funerals that day.  Everyone at Stanly Funeral Home made us feel like we were family and did everything they could for us in this most trying time in our lives.

Everyone went out of their way to make sure that every detail was good with me.  Their kindness, patience and love they show is superior.  Stephen Aldridge and his ENTIRE staff are the best.

The whole staff was wonderful but Stephen Aldridge was excellent, even sending us a note one month later.
