Celebrating The Life Of Loved Ones

Marion E. Cooper

Marion E. Cooper (née Coward), affectionately known as “Munner”, age 88, passed away Friday, November 23, 2018, under the loving care of Hospice of the Golden Isles, located in Brunswick, GA.

Marion was born May 8, 1930 in Badin, NC to Della and Norman Coward. A graduate of Badin High School and the Carolina Business School, she worked as a clerk-stenographer for the Stanly County PMA office. During her time of employment, she was described as “a person of pleasing personality and innate friendliness.”

This is a sentiment that carried throughout her life and relationships. The epitome of compassion, love, and grace, she was devoted to her family and friends. She maintained life-long connections over the years, enjoying long telephone calls and sending cards. More recently, she enjoyed volunteering on the menu planning committee and playing BINGO at Magnolia Manor Senior Living.

Marion is survived by her daughter, Karen Cooper of St. Simons Island, GA; granddaughters, Whitney (Stephen) Boda of Atlanta, GA and Braelinn (Jason) Gray of Senoia, GA; great-grandson, Cooper Boda; and great-granddaughters, Wyatt Boda and Oaklyn Gray. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Colon E. Cooper, and her siblings, Lamar Coward, Dorothy Huffman (née Coward), Jackie Cooper (née Coward), and Ruth Harris (née Coward), all natives of North Carolina.

The family will receive friends 6-8pm, Friday, November 30, 2018 at Stanly Funeral & Cremation Care, 1835 Badin Road, Albemarle, NC.  Funeral services will be held beginning 11am, Saturday, December 1, 2018, in the Stanly Funeral & Cremation Care Chapel of Albemarle. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Park, Albemarle, NC.

Stanly overwhelmingly met or exceeded our family’s expectations. Family and friends both expressed how thoughtful, caring and professional they were. We’re glad you’re in Locust!

We never felt hurried or rushed in any way even though they had other funerals that day.  Everyone at Stanly Funeral Home made us feel like we were family and did everything they could for us in this most trying time in our lives.

Everyone went out of their way to make sure that every detail was good with me.  Their kindness, patience and love they show is superior.  Stephen Aldridge and his ENTIRE staff are the best.

The whole staff was wonderful but Stephen Aldridge was excellent, even sending us a note one month later.
