Celebrating The Life Of Loved Ones

Alden “Bitts” Matson

Our beloved husband, father and grandfather went home to be with the Lord on Sept. 8th. He was 64 years old.

He and Chris had recently relocated to Locust, North Carolina to retire. He lived for his family, wife Chris (Dieckman), Megan (Shane) Kesegich and Andrew (Lindsey) Matson. As Papa, he cherished his 6 grandchildren, Ethan, Claire and Olivia Kesegich and Holden, Jacey and Lydia Matson. He had been retired from Goodyear. He is also survived by sisters, Judy Hudgins and Janet Barr. Father-in-law, Bill Dieckman and numerous sisters and brother-in-laws. He was “UB” to numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Mona Matson and his sister, Joyce Talcott.

Please remember to enjoy your life each day, everyday is the perfect day, cherish family and friends. “One more day, one more time, one more sunset, maybe I’d be satisfied. But then again, I know what it would do, leave me wishing for one more day with you.” – Diamond Rio

Please make memorials to The Kidney Foundation, Diabetes Association or your choice.

Al, glad I got to know you, I will always remember the family vacation shared with you and your family, and our talks by the pool.

I know not of Alden personally, but through knowing his son, Andrew, and seeing his legacy through the personality of Andrew, he must have been a family-loving, proud dad. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Matson family. Your loss is great, your sadness must be difficult, but keep his memories in your heart and your thoughts. Speak of him whenever the chance arises, so as to lessen the pain, and to keep cherishing the memories… He will be listening.

Stanly overwhelmingly met or exceeded our family’s expectations. Family and friends both expressed how thoughtful, caring and professional they were. We’re glad you’re in Locust!

We never felt hurried or rushed in any way even though they had other funerals that day.  Everyone at Stanly Funeral Home made us feel like we were family and did everything they could for us in this most trying time in our lives.

Everyone went out of their way to make sure that every detail was good with me.  Their kindness, patience and love they show is superior.  Stephen Aldridge and his ENTIRE staff are the best.

The whole staff was wonderful but Stephen Aldridge was excellent, even sending us a note one month later.
