Considering Cremation?

-Learn the Top 4 Cremation Related Concerns-
of Stanly Area Families

Concern #1 – Wondering if they receive the correct remains

Secure-CremationA quick Google search on the term “cremation mistake” returns 409,000 shocking results. Page after page of examples in which unintentional mistakes resulted in the family receiving the wrong ashes back from a crematory or funeral home.

We believe you should never have to question whether we return the correct ashes to your family. That is why the Aldridge family, who have owned and operated the Stanly Funeral & Cremation Care for over 60 years, recently built the area’s most state-of-the-art crematory.

This new crematory is operated by certified technicians and uses an exclusive 10-step chain of custody process that exceeds industry standards. Rest assured that we take the secure care of your loved one’s remains very seriously.

Concern #2 – Having the opportunity to say goodbye one last time

Saying goodbye to your loved one is never easy. Unfortunately, in today’s Private-Farewellculture, many people try to skip this step. The sad reality is that failing to say goodbye to someone you love leaves emotional wounds that may never heal.

At Stanly Funeral & Cremation Care, whenever possible every family is given the opportunity for a private farewell in one of our quiet and comfortable visitation rooms. If a public visitation is planned the private farewell is typically scheduled to precede the public time.

On a practical level, this an important step in our security procedures. On an emotional level, this private time helps family members as they mourn the loss.

Concern #3 – Finding a place for a ceremony

Farewell-CeremonyOver 80% of cremations in Stanly County include some form of funeral ceremony or memorial service. Whether religious or non-religious, a service of some form always plays an important role in the healing process for the family and friends. Unfortunately, for some families, finding a place for a farewell ceremony can be difficult.

At Stanly Funeral & Cremation Care, every family we serve has the option to use our beautiful chapel. Our facility is flexible which allows our chapel to be an intimate space for a small private gathering, expanded to seat over 275 people in a large farewell ceremony or anything in between.
Families also have the option to use our in-house chaplain, Reverend Keith Walters. Whereas a Funeral Director is primarily concerned with the logistics of the day and the comfort of the family and guests, our Chaplain is focused on the emotional and spiritual needs of all and helps to initiate the healing process through the power of a well told life story.

Concern #4 – Deciding what to do with the cremated remains

Final-Resting-PlaceAll too often a family member receives the cremated remains and are left wondering…now what? Do you scatter the ashes at the beach? Do you place them in an urn? What do you do with the urn? Sadly, failing to consider this issue creates a burden for future generations as they are faced with the task of deciding what to do with the cremated remains of family members.

That is why Stanly Funeral & Cremation Care has prepared a guide entitled “Final Resting Place Options for Families Choosing Cremation”. This short but informative document outlines the various options available for you here in Stanly County and the surrounding area. It also provides you with issues to consider related to the emotional and practical needs of your family members.

Exclusively at Stanly Funeral & Cremation Care

Stanly overwhelmingly met or exceeded our family’s expectations. Family and friends both expressed how thoughtful, caring and professional they were. We’re glad you’re in Locust!

We never felt hurried or rushed in any way even though they had other funerals that day.  Everyone at Stanly Funeral Home made us feel like we were family and did everything they could for us in this most trying time in our lives.

Everyone went out of their way to make sure that every detail was good with me.  Their kindness, patience and love they show is superior.  Stephen Aldridge and his ENTIRE staff are the best.

The whole staff was wonderful but Stephen Aldridge was excellent, even sending us a note one month later.
