Edwin Harding Ellis, III, 70, of Oakboro passed away on Monday, February 8, 2021 at his home. A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Friday, February 12, 2021 in the Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care Chapel in Locust officiated by Rev. Keith Walters. Burial will follow at Oakboro Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1-2PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Ellis was born August 19, 1950 in Birmingham, AL to the late Edwin Harding Ellis, Jr. and Emma Jean Bryant Ellis. Ed was a gentle, caring, and loyal person. He was devoted to his family and friends. Mr. Ellis was proud of his children and grandchildren. They would always make his heart smile! Mr. Ellis was committed to his wife Patsy for 47 years living up to his vows of marriage. He will be remembered as a husband, best friend, and soul mate. Ed touched the lives of many, and he will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife Patricia Ellis of the home; daughter Veronica Harmon (Brian) of Concord, NC; son Edwin Harding Ellis, IV (Carolyn) of Lincolnton, NC; grandchildren: Brandon Harmon, Audree Harmon, Zac Ellis, Cameron Ellis; brother Paul Ellis.
