Johnnie Michael Talley

Johnnie Michael Talley, 69, of Stanfield, passed away on Monday, October 7, 2019 at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, October 11, 2019 in the Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care Chapel in Locust, NC.

Born April 3, 1950 in Stanly County, Johnnie was the son of the late Mildred Hahn Talley and Homer Lee Talley. Mr. Talley spent his career working as a farmer with Talley Farms. He loved fishing and spending time at the coast with his family and friends. Johnnie was known for his wit, his stubbornness, and his love for his family.

Mr. Talley is survived by his wife Debra “Debbie” Lynn Jones Talley; sons Jeffrey Talley (Ashley) of Stanfield, and Jeremy Talley (Melissa) of Wesley Chapel; grandchildren Ethan, Payton, Reagan, and Samuel Talley; sisters Barbara Moylan (Mike) of Stanfield, and Judy Barbee of Stanfield; and brother Windell Talley (Judy) of Stanfield.

    I lost a true Friend with the passing of Mike we fished together for many years and he was always giving me a hard time about fishing .Thought the world of Mike and will Truly miss him .Prayers for everyone

    Debbie we were so very surprise to read someone else obituary and saw Mike’s at the top of the page. We are still in shock. Stanly overwhelmingly met or exceeded our family’s expectations. Family and friends both expressed how thoughtful, caring and professional they were. We’re glad you’re in Locust!


We never felt hurried or rushed in any way even though they had other funerals that day.  Everyone at Stanly Funeral Home made us feel like we were family and did everything they could for us in this most trying time in our lives.


Everyone went out of their way to make sure that every detail was good with me.  Their kindness, patience and love they show is superior.  Stephen Aldridge and his ENTIRE staff are the best.


The whole staff was wonderful but Stephen Aldridge was excellent, even sending us a note one month later.
