Ruby Robinson

Ruby Robinson, 87, of Stanfield passed away Wednesday March 18, 2020 at Brookdale Monroe Square. Her funeral will be Friday March 20 at 11 AM at Meadow Creek Primitive Baptist Church. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. Due to an order issued by NC Governor Roy Cooper to limit crowd size, this service may only be attended by family, funeral home staff, and guests personally invited by the family.

Born January 23, 1933 in Wilkes County, she was the daughter of the late Gaither Franklin Huffman and Della Mae Shepherd Huffman and was a member of Meadow Creek Primitive Baptist Church in Locust. Ruby loved to be outside and working in her garden.

 Ruby is survived by two sons, Daniel Morrison Robinson (Carrie) of Stanfield and Joel Kenneth Robinson (Cathy) of Huntersville, NC, brothers, Bill and Jim Huffman, sisters, Barbara Whittington and Betty Shetts, grandchildren, Jennifer Kennedy, Lacy Robinson, Jasmine Nicholson, and Brandon Bing, and great-grandchildren, Raelyn Gales, and Josiah and Janessa Nicholson.    

In addition to her parents, Ruby is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph M. Robinson, daughter, Lisa Robinson, brothers, Don and Boyd Huffman, and sisters, Ruth Ashley and Stella Miller.

    Sister Ruby was a precious person and I have many of fond memories of her and Brother Joe . They joined Mt Creek church and Bro Joe was ordained a deacon there at the same time as my father , Lane Vanhoy Such special memories! May the Lord comfort each of you. We share your loss!

We never felt hurried or rushed in any way even though they had other funerals that day.  Everyone at Stanly Funeral Home made us feel like we were family and did everything they could for us in this most trying time in our lives.


Everyone went out of their way to make sure that every detail was good with me.  Their kindness, patience and love they show is superior.  Stephen Aldridge and his ENTIRE staff are the best.


The whole staff was wonderful but Stephen Aldridge was excellent, even sending us a note one month later.
