Celebrating The Life Of Loved Ones

Thomas Warren Shaver

Thomas (Tommy) Shaver died at Tucker Hospice House on December 24, 2019 after a short fight with cancer. He was 81. The family will be receiving friends Friday, December 27 at Wil-Mar Park Baptist Church in Concord from 6 PM to 8 PM. His funeral will be Saturday, December 28 at Wil-Mar Park Baptist Church at 2 PM. The burial will follow the funeral service at Oakwood Cemetery in Concord.

Tommy was born November 23, 1938, in Albemarle NC to Robert “June” Shaver and Irene Vickers Shaver. He was a graduate of Albemarle High School class of 1955 and attended NC State College.

He married the love of his life, Frances “Kaleen” Shaver In 1963. Tommy and Kaleen moved to Eastern Cabarrus County where they have resided for 56 wonderful years. Tommy served in the Air National Guard from 1960-1966.

Tommy was a Godly man and received the Lord as his Savior in 1965. He continued to walk his Christian Journey until his death, always showing love in action to his many family members and friends.

Tommy Shaver was the best husband, Daddy, and Granddaddy that a family could ask for. God and family were his priorities.  Tommy is survived by his wife of 56 years, Kaleen Shaver, daughter Lori Shaver Love (Chuck), son Thomas “Ryan” Shaver (Brandy), grandchildren Adam Herrin, Andrew Herrin, Noah Shaver, Dalton Shaver, and Adam Love. He loved his extended family and in-laws and enjoyed many happy times with them.

He enjoyed the outdoors, birdwatching, classic cars, antiquing, and genealogy.  Tommy Shaver never met a stranger and will be missed by all. We celebrate God’s promise that we will see him again in Heaven.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pink Pals Breast Cancer Support Group in honor of his daughter at F&M Bank 635 Church St. N Concord, NC 28025; Attention Lisa Cline; or to Wil-Mar Park Baptist Church at 584 Wilmar St. Concord, NC 28025.

We little knew that on December 24 that morning God was going to call Tommy home,In life we loved you dearly:in death we do the same It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone. For part of us went with you, the day God called you home You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide, And though we cannot see you, you are always at our side Your family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same, But as God call us one by one, the chain will link again. We love you all Praying for all.
Love Nellie Hatley, Lana, Teresa, Pam and Tammy ( ps I’ll sure Daddy welcome him home)

Stanly overwhelmingly met or exceeded our family’s expectations. Family and friends both expressed how thoughtful, caring and professional they were. We’re glad you’re in Locust!

We never felt hurried or rushed in any way even though they had other funerals that day.  Everyone at Stanly Funeral Home made us feel like we were family and did everything they could for us in this most trying time in our lives.

-RP

Everyone went out of their way to make sure that every detail was good with me.  Their kindness, patience and love they show is superior.  Stephen Aldridge and his ENTIRE staff are the best.

-DBN

The whole staff was wonderful but Stephen Aldridge was excellent, even sending us a note one month later.
